The Virtual Alopeciapalooza Family Challenge

Since we can’t be together this year in Maine for Alopeciapalooza, we thought it would be fun to do a virtual camp experience. We focused on our great speakers with virtual talks to replace Calipalooza and CAP Kid Camp Wisconsin. But now we’re ready for something a little different to remind us of our time at camp.

We are asking families and speakers to recreate their favorite camp experience from Alopeciapalooza, Calipalooza, or one of our CAP Kid Camps-in the safety of your home, yard, or a nearby park that is open. Please be creative, but some fun examples might be a campfire, a makeshift zipline, arts and crafts, a kickball game, even a family meal that reminds you of camp.

Please video your reenacted camp scene and submit to Jeff.woytovich@childrensalopeciaproject.org no later than this June 12th so we can share all of the virtual camp experiences Monday, June 15 to Thursday, June 18, which would be when we should have been in Maine for Alopeciapalooza.

All videos will be posted on the CAP FB page and we invite all families to vote by liking your favorite video. The video with the most likes wins!

The winning family will be able to attend a camp of their choice in 2020.

Camps to chose from include Cap Kid Camp North Carolina, Ohio, Colorado, or Washington State.

We will also be posting other videos and photos from past Alopeciapalooza camps.

Good luck everyone.

Please use every safety and precaution required in your state when recreating camp activities. All persons submitting a video will hold The Children’s Alopecia Project harmless and will be responsible for produced videos and will give CAP permission to use all videos on social media platforms.
